Solid Surface
Solid surface materials, such as Corian, offer a smooth “one-piece” look. Any seams will be inconspicuous, although they are not guaranteed to be invisible.
Solid surface countertops are very affordable, starting at less than $50 per square foot, and are available in an amazing array of colors and patterns. Colors include a variety of whites, earth tones and bright, vibrant colors. Patterns range from plain solids through patterns with large particulates in coordinating or contrasting colors.
Solid surface manufacturers also make solid surface kitchen sinks and vanity bowls. These bowls are fabricated into the countertop at our facility. The smooth “seamless” look and feel make cleanup a breeze, and there are no cracks or crevices that can hold dirt or bacteria. Most Corian bowls are available in Bisque, Cameo White, Glacier White, Bone, Natural Pearl, Pearl Gray, and Vanilla (see Corian Sinks and Edges.)
The ability to inconspicuously seam solid surface material means that repairs and modifications can be made without having to replace an entire countertop. Your solid surface countertop will come with a matte finish which is the most suitable for use in a high traffic environment, such as a kitchen. Minor scratches and abrasions are easily repaired with this type of finish. Scratches and abrasions will be more evident with a highly polished top or with a darker color.
