What to Expect...

With Countertop Installations:

Scheduling: Measure/Field Template & Installation Date: Once your countertop order has been confirmed, QSI will call within 2 business days to set up Measure and Install dates for your countertop.

Adjustments: Final pricing of countertops will be determined after QSI Measure appointment. This allows for adjustments based on actual square footage of material to be used, and will also account for any changes, additions or deletions from the job as determined at the Measure appointment. Prior to releasing a job for fabrication, final sign-off will be required on the revised quote, this General Guidelines document, the Product Specification Sheet, and, if requested by QSI, the revised CAD drawings.

Time Window for Appointments: All field template and installation dates will be scheduled with the customer. The Measure and the Install will be scheduled Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4 PM. Appointment times are scheduled as a 4-hour window in which the customer can expect the measurer or install crew to arrive. Crews can also call the customer 30 minutes prior to arrival, if desired. Please talk to your customer service representative to arrange this.

Cancellations: Template cancellations require notice during business hours (8 AM-5 PM) at least one (1) business day before the appointment. Installation cancellations require at least three (3) business days prior notice. All appointment cancellations must be communicated directly to QSI.

Contacting QSI: If you call QSI (812-876-5838) and reach the Voice Mail system, PLEASE leave a message. Our Customer Service Reps may be assisting other customers, but your call is very important to them. All Phone calls are returned within one (1) business day.

With Field Measurements:

Countertop Info: Please review the material type, color, edge, sink, and other pertinent info before measure to ensure that we have the correct information at the measure appointment.

Cabinet Requirements: Cabinets must be plumb, level (in-plane), and secured to walls and/or floor. The countertop must lie flat within 1/8" to eliminate stress on the corners, cutouts, and seams. This is also required for warranty purposes. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the cabinets are plumb, level and square, before installation.

Adequate Support: The surface type and material thickness dictate the amount of overhang permitted on a countertop.

Removal of Existing Countertops and Appliances: All existing countertops, backsplashes, sinks, and cooktops must be completely disconnected and removed from cabinetry prior to field measure date.

Sink, Faucets, and Appliances: Items to be mounted in the Countertops MUST be on the jobsite prior to the field template. Changes in specifications after field template is complete may delay your installation date and/or incur . Items included: Sink, Cooking appliance, faucets, soap dispenser, etc.

Kitchen Appliances: All appliances (dishwashers, stoves, and refrigerators) MUST be onsite at the time of field measure.

Customer Authorization: The customer (or a decision maker over 18 years of age) must be present at the time of field measurement, and will be responsible for approving all details of the countertop. The field measure drawing supersedes all previous drawings.

Incidental Damage: Final wall preparations (painting, wallpapering) should not be completed prior to installation. Care will be exercised during the countertop installation; however, scrapes, punctures, and digs to wall surfaces are possible, as are scratches and scrapes to cabinetry. These items are considered incidental damage and are Customers responsibility to repair.

Trip Charges: If the measure/install crew arrives at the job site and ANY of the conditions outlined above are not met, the field template and the installation date will be rescheduled, and a Trip Charge will be assessed.

Final Pricing: The initial purchase order is an estimate of the projected price of your countertop project. The final price will be determined after the field template drawing has been completed.

Installation Seams: Placement of any seams that may be required is at the discretion of QSI. Stone countertops will have visible seams. Solid Surface will have inconspicuous seams.

Cancellations/Returns: All countertops are custom made, i.e. uniquely altered, color-matched, shaped, sized, or otherwise uniquely designed or fitted to accommodate the requirements of a particular space or environment (including all Granite, Quartz surfaces, Acrylic, and all other Solid Surfaces) and are thus NON-RETURNABLE. The purchase price cannot be refunded unless the material has been incorrectly ordered by QSI, or if the countertops should be damaged beyond repair during delivery.

Installation Sign-Off: After the countertop has been installed, the customer (or a designated decision-maker over the age of 18) MUST be present to inspect the countertop. An Installation customer approval form will be provided, which you will be asked to sign, confirming your satisfaction with the quality, fit and damage-free condition of your new countertop.

Cleanup: Installation of a countertop is a construction process and residual dust should be expected. The customer may want to drape or cover areas to contain the dust to the construction area. The job site will be left in broom-clean condition.
