Quality Surfaces was founded over 24 years ago on a simple principle: providing Indiana with the finest construction expertise and premium materials. When I, John Cook, took the helm in 2014, I brought with me a decade of experience as a Design Engineer for Cummins Engine Company.

My background isn't just in business—it’s in the science of how things are made.

From Precision Engines to Perfect Countertops

During my 9.5 years at Cummins, I specialized in product design, manufacturing, and team leadership. I developed a passion for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology, even building my own woodworking CNC routers as a hobby. When I discovered Quality Surfaces, I realized that stone fabrication was simply "engineering on a larger scale".

Instead of machining metal components for engines, we are now machining and shaping massive slabs of stone and high-performance resins with the same mathematical precision.

You don’t have to guess based on a 4-inch sample; you can choose the exact piece of earth that will sit in your home.

We know that for many homeowners, the biggest worry is the seam. Since 2017, we have utilized a proprietary finishing process that creates the cleanest, most inconspicuous seams in the industry. Combined with our engineering-grade CNC fabrication, the fit and finish of your kitchen will be second to none.

5-Day Turnaround: We always install exactly one week (5 business days) after measurement.
Measure Over Existing Tops: Unlike many fabricators, we can measure for your new surfaces while your current countertops are still in place. This means you don't have to go without a functional kitchen while your new tops are being crafted.
